If something is deleted from the app, it cannot be recovered. We strongly recommend backing up any important files to prevent accidental loss.
Currently, your data is stored locally on your phone. Be sure to back it up on another device or secure storage service regularly.
TRACIE doesn’t file complaints for you, but it helps you build a strong case. You can use the notes, photos, and evidence you’ve collected when speaking to school staff or submitting a formal complaint.
Yes. All content you upload is stored securely on your device. Only you have access to your data unless you decide to share it.
You can document any form of racism or discrimination in educational spaces - whether it’s verbal harassment, biased discipline, microaggressions, exclusion, or systemic neglect.
TRACIE was created for Black students, families, caregivers, and allies who want to document and track racist incidents in education. Anyone who needs to collect and organize evidence for advocacy is welcome to use the app.
TRACIE is forever free. You can upload as much content as you need. We do recommend backing up your files on another device or cloud storage in case your phone is lost, stolen, or damaged.
TRACIE has a privacy guarantee. Your content is private and secure, it’s only shared if and when you choose to share it.
Yes. TRACIE allows you to share your content via email. The amount you can send may depend on your email provider’s limits.
You can upload a few GB of content directly into the app.
Videos can be up a few minutes long. (We recommend keeping each clip short and focused for easier storage and sharing.)
