Built to Make Change
TRACIE, short for Tracking Racism and Collecting Information in Education, is a mobile app and grassroots initiative dedicated to empowering Black families in the fight against racism in schools.
Founded by parent and advocate True Daley, TRACIE was born out of a need for a better way to document and report anti-Black racism in educational spaces. The system wasn’t built for us, families were often expected to recount traumatic experiences over and over again, without results, support, or justice.
We decided to change that.

Our mission
To provide Black families and students with a powerful tool for documenting and addressing racism in education, turning lived experiences into evidence, and evidence into change.
Our values & approach
→ Community first
TRACIE was created by and for the community. We believe that solutions to systemic racism must be rooted in the lived experiences of those most affected - Black families, students, and caregivers.
→ Privacy & protection
We take data security seriously. Your documentation is stored securely, and you’re always in control of what you share, when, and with whom.
→ Turning Evidence Into Action
We believe in moving from experience to impact. By helping families collect and organize key evidence, TRACIE supports stronger advocacy and pushes institutions toward accountability.
Our vision
To help create safer, more inclusive educational environments where every student’s voice is heard, respected, and protected.
→ Accessibility matters
We’re committed to keeping TRACIE easy to use, free of charge, and accessible to those who need it most. You don’t need to be a tech expert to use our tools, just someone who’s ready to be heard.
→ Centering Black Voices
TRACIE exists to amplify the voices of Black students and families that have too often been ignored, silenced, or erased. We believe your story matters and we’re here to make sure it’s documented.
